--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Autofair is one of the largest shows on the east coast and we get to be a part of it. Lowe's Motor Speedway has a webpage up for the Autofair, you can read more about the event at Lowes Motor Speedway. Also check out the Hornets Nest for additional information.
Event Rules and Info The following is a list of rules set by Lowes Motor Speedway. Please take a moment to review (and follow) these rules so we will be invited back for the next show. ;)
Display Times: Saturday 8-6 and Sunday 8-4 Rain or shine. Please plan to arrive at the speedway no later than 7:30 am each day. In the past we've had major traffic jambs occur due to arrivals at 8am or later causing the Highway Patrol to re-route traffic. Arriving ealry each day will greatly reduce the chances of getting "caught in a jam". All show vehicles should be in their display area for the public when the show starts each morning at 8am. Parking Passes: Parking passes MUST be adhered to the lower left-hand driver's side of the windshield prior to arrival at the speedway. (Exception - Trailered vehicles - see below) Improperly placed passes on show vehicles are causing jams, backups and headaches at the entrances. The entrance gate staff must be able to see and read these passes before they can allow the show vehicles to enter the premises. If the staff can't see the parking passes well or not at all, they must stop the vehicle which in turns, creates traffic flow problems and delays. According to the speedway entrance staff, parking passes in a glove box or wallet, lying on a console, seat or dash - everywhere they should not be, has been directly responsible for most of the bottlenecks occuring at the entrances. Should you not want to use the method stated on the sticker to adhere it to the windshield, please use a piece of tape. Admission Passes: Have these passes ready at all times to provide to the gate personnel. Unused Admission and Parking Passes Must be retunrd to the Speedway: Each Admission and Parking Pass contains an audit number that must be accounted for after each show. Display Representatives are aware they must return tp the speedway all of the passes for each vehicle not showing in their clud display. Should you be unable to attend and participate in your club's display, all passes in your possession must be returned to your Display REpresentative who will return these to the speedway. Vehicle Counts Begin Early Each Morning: Vehilce counts have a direct bearing on the number of spaces allotted to each club for the following AutoFair or if there will be a future invitation from the speedway to participate in AutoFair. In the past, there have been car clubs removed from out show roster based on the actual number of show vehilces displayed vs. the number of vehicles committed to show. People Admission and Parking Passes are to be returned to the speedway each day of the show for the number of vehicles not displayed. Trophy Delivery to Club Displays: We do not have a chance to inventory and load-up the club trophies on a cart until Saturday morning. Trophies are delivered first to the clubs showing on Saturday only and then to the clubs showing both days. We attempt to have the trophies to the display areas as early in the morning as possible. Show Vehicles ONLY are to be within Club Display: This past show, there were some clubs displays that include obvious non-show type vehicles. Unacceptable examples are: newer model Chevrolet trucks in a classic GM display, Volvo in a Mercury Display, etc. There will be tow-truck companies on standby to tow non-show vehilces outside the speedway. Each and every display space is at a premium and reserved soley for show vehicles. If it is not a "show vehicle", it is not to be parked within your club display. Support Vehilces are not allowed inside the track or within the Club Display: The Support Vehicle MUST be parked in the Exhibitor Parking with a special parking pass displayed on the lower portion of the drivers side of the windshiled. No "FOR SALE" signs allowed on Club Display: participants wanting to advertise their vehicle "forSale", will need to contact either the Hornet's Nest to purchase a Car Corral Space or make arrangements with Tom Mack Auction and take advantage of the $25.00 off consignment fee discount to Club Members. Vehicles advertise "For Sale" in a dispaly are subject to being towed. Tranport Trailer Parking Area Noted on Maps given to the Display Representatives: Transport trailers are not allowed inside the track area at any time. Trailered vehicles will need to be off-loaded in the trailer parking area located off Morehead Road at Gate P. (Drivers are required to present the Show Vehicle parking pass to the gate staff before they will be admitted to this parking area.) Off-loaded vehicles will then need the parking pass adhered to the lower left-hand driver's side of the windshield and driven to the display area. Vehicles Must Remain Parked in the Display Areas at all Times: "Cruising" the Swap Meet areas or Car Corral is not permitted. Car Club Name Signs belong to Lowe's Motor Speedway: Signs are not to be removed by anyone other then Speedway personnel. These signs were purchased by and owned by Lowe's Motor Speedway. they are placed to assist your members in locating exact display area. In addition, they serve to let the public know who you are and meant to be reused for each AutoFair event. "Typical" Club Event Schedule:
